It allows you to withdraw funds from your checking account without ever having to write a check. You can purchase groceries, gas or anything else. Use your card wherever Mastercard® debit card is accepted. Plus, the debit card performs all the functions of an ATM card.
Should I choose Debit or Credit when asked at the checkout terminal?
This is a common questions many customers have asked. The answer is either. The charge will always be deducted directly from your checking account, but the transaction is processed different depending on whether you choose debit or credit. Choosing “debit” will require you to enter your PIN as authorization and gives you the option to get cash back. Choosing “credit” will allow you to sign and go. Some merchants don’t require a signature under a certain dollar amount for credit transactions with the “credit” option. Conway Bank recommends using the “credit” option unless you need to use the cash back option. This protects your PIN from potentially being exposed to other store patrons and/or possible data breaches.
